Hybrid Lecture: Japanese Nebraskans in North Platte River Valley

Led by: Sandra Reddish

Sandra Reddish, an accomplished historian, has undertaken a fascinating exploration into the often-overlooked Japanese immigrant population that settled in Nebraska over a century ago. Her research focuses on the history of Japanese immigration to the state, delving into the lives of those who contributed to Nebraska's railroads, agriculture, and community. Over several years, Reddish conducted interviews with dozens of second and third-generation descendants of these early Japanese settlers, chronicling their remarkable story of perseverance, and hard work. Join us as Reddish sheds light on an important and often forgotten chapter in Nebraska's rich history.
